This is my favortie way to start the day, although I’ve been known to have it as a dinner alternate, especially I’m feeling guilty about lunch, or the family is snarfing down Pizza with Extra Cheese! This recipe has Kale and Spinach, which I don’t feel like detract from the taste, and are awesome Super Foods!
1 large Kale leaf
1/2 c. liquid (I like soy milk, but have used: juice, skim milk, or water)
Grind well in a good blender, til smooth. Then add:
1 small handful of spinach leaves
1 banana (this adds sweetness, plus potassium, fiber-4g!)
2 cups total frozen fruit: I like blueberries, and I have frozen apricots on hand. I have used frozen peaches, raspberries, and blackberries. have not tried cherries, but a sister did and Loved them! If you don’t have frozen, use fresh, and add:
1 cup of ice for cold wonderful treat texture!
Drink up, ignore color:) I don’t like to drink these straight out of the glass (my fave is a 20oz tall glass glass) so I use a straw.
